June 23 update - Two of the immature peregrine flew today.
The little male flew while we were there, but we missed it. More than likely he soared to the Stash Cove which is the adjacent cove around the midpoint. One of the females began climbing and "flutter flying" above the nest ledge....she was gone this afternoon when we came back to the cove leaving one immature female at the nest ledge.
On Saturday, July 5 we will hold our Eighth Birding Day from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. This will be a bit scaled down from previous years....but the peregrine will be there and in the air. You can also see the Black Oystercatchers, and the Pelagic Cormorant Nesting Colony. There are also various other small and large birds to see.
We hope that many of you will be able to come see the cove!
This is the final update for this season on the lighthouse website.
